The growing frequency of disasters, driven by both natural forces and the impacts of climate change, has brought about unprecedented psychological and social challenges for affected communities. The interwoven effects of disasters, mental health issues, and social vulnerability call for comprehensive strategies to mitigate the psychosocial consequences. This conference, titled “Beyond the Rubble: Building Resilience through Psychosocial Support”, aims to delve into the pivotal role of Psychosocial Support and Mental Health Services (PSSMHS) in fostering resilience in the face of evolving disaster risks, particularly in the context of climate change. Emphasizing multidisciplinary perspectives, the event will highlight the critical importance of community resilience, inclusive practices, and indigenous knowledge in developing sustainable DRR frameworks. Special attention will be given to the intersection of climate change and mental health, as well as the long-term psychosocial impacts of climate-driven disasters on vulnerable populations. Through keynote presentations, panel discussions, and interactive workshops, participants will engage in discourse on cutting-edge research, practical interventions, and policy innovations that underscore the importance of PSSMHS in disaster contexts. This conference aims to strengthen global understanding and collaboration, driving forward the implementation of PSSMHS and Disaster Risk Reduction practices to support resilient communities that are prepared for the challenges of a rapidly changing world.
